Another large telescope for the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO). An 1m F/8 Alt-Az mounted Ritchey Chrétien for robotic use. It has dual Nasmyth Foci. The main telescopes used for research are located at the SAAO observing station (32°22.795’S 20°48,657’E) near Sutherland in the Northern Cape, a 4-hour drive from Cape Town.

The TE-77, demonstrates the power and versatility of charged coupled device technology.

With an increased cooling delta, this argon filled camera achieves extremely low read noise, enabling it to detect even the smallest signals. Additionally, the extremely deep full well depth results in much lower saturation when imaging, which reveals exceptional detail.

This advanced sensor from Teledyne e2v is perfectly complemented by Atik’s design and engineering. This camera provides excellent performance in the most demanding of applications such as chemiluminescence, fluorescence, spectroscopy, microscopy, and bioluminescence due to its large pixels, low noise characteristics, and excellent QE.

There is also the option to integrate a 45mm high speed bi-stable shutter with an opening time of 20.0 milliseconds. With the assistance of our in-house engineering department, the TE-77 can be fully customized to suit your specifications of specific OEM applications

The TE-77 camera is built to the highest standards in our own ISO 9001 certified production facility and is available with an extensive software development kit.

The Atik TE-77 Camera is an ideal choice for those looking for a powerful, versatile imaging telescope instrument.  Its advanced cooling performance allows for accurate and noise-free long-exposure shots of faint celestial objects. With its dual-stage thermoelectric cooler keeping temperatures stabilized up to -40° Celsius at ambient temperature of 20 Celsius in just minutes and requiring little power draw.

For Spectroscopy

Because of its high sensitivity, low noise, and efficient download rates, the Atik TE-77 camera is ideal for spectroscopy science imaging. The e2v CCD77 CCD sensor provides instant, clear images thanks to its 24 µm pixel size. An optional shutter built into the camera can also reduce distortion caused by short exposure times, further improving image quality.
